Permanent eyebrow makeup has enjoyed enduring popularity for many years. It is useful to know how to take care of your eyebrows after the procedure and what to expect during the healing period.
HEALING EYEBROWS AFTER PERMANENT MAKEUP – WHAT NOT TO DO
It takes about two weeks for the eyebrows to heal. In order not to hurt yourself during this time and destroy the results of the linergist’s work, it is necessary to follow her instructions. While the eyebrows are healing, for example, the face should not be exposed to UV radiation, so avoid tanning beds and sunbathing. You should also not scrape off any scabs that may appear, as you risk ugly-looking scars. In addition, we can lead to infection in this way. While your eyebrows are healing, refrain from using the sauna, pool or hot tub – the microorganisms present there can also contribute to infection.
You should remove the earring if you have a pierced eyebrow. However, if you notice that an infection has occurred, you should consult a linergist and a doctor. The linergist on site will tell us what preparations can damage the color of the eyebrows after permanent makeup, while the doctor will choose the appropriate medicine.
If possible, avoid antibiotics in ointments – they will adversely affect pigmentation.
It is also important to remember not to sleep on your stomach after the procedure, but rather “on your eyebrows”, as it is unfavorable to rub your eyebrows against the pillow. It is also forbidden to apply additional makeup – powdering the eyebrows, correcting their contour with pencil or pomade. Such physical activity, during which we sweat heavily in the facial area, is also unfavorable.
HOW EYEBROWS HEAL AFTER PERMANENT MAKEUP
Keep in mind that first of all, we should not worry about the color of our eyebrows, which we will see in the mirror immediately after the procedure and a few days afterwards. Immediately after the makeup, the skin has an uneven tone – in the area where the anesthesia was administered it will be lighter, the eyebrows may be swollen and reddened. These symptoms usually subside after a few hours. Eyebrows after micropigmentation are much darker than when the target color was achieved, so don’t worry about their color immediately after the procedure. The very next day after the treatment, the exfoliation of the epidermis begins. As already mentioned, the small scabs that appear at the pigmentation site should not be removed at that time, so as not to lead to the formation of wounds and, as a result, scarring and discoloration. It’s worth simply waiting for that moment, taking proper care of your eyebrows. Exfoliation of the epidermis causes the eyebrows to fade by as much as 40 to 50 percent.
This symptom is completely normal and should not surprise or alarm us. For this reason, an additional treatment is always performed after 4-6 weeks.
Keep in mind that immediately after the procedure the eyebrows will be exaggerated, but it is worth waiting for the healing period to see how they will change. Providing proper care and a little patience will ensure that after a short time you will be able to enjoy beautiful eyebrows that match your beauty.
WHAT TO DO WHILE YOUR EYEBROWS ARE HEALING
An extremely important part of the eyebrow healing process is proper care. It’s not just about relieving stress on the epidermis and speeding up healing – without care, there are no results. The makeup will simply fade. How do you take care of your eyebrows? At the very beginning, when washing your face, be extremely gentle – do not rub your skin with a towel, but pat it dry with a light application. Do not use scrubs, alcohol-based gels or soaps with acids. It is then worth investing in a gentle, hypoallergenic product to wash the whole face, the linergist who performed the procedure will certainly advise us what to wash and lubricate the eyebrows with. Because you need to know that the most important part of eyebrow care during the healing period is lubrication with the right product. It is necessary to moisturize (not lubricate) the skin, so Alantan ointment or Bephanten ointment, for example, works well.
The healing process of eyebrows after permanent makeup can be summed up briefly – do not irritate eyebrows, moisturize them and avoid situations where the possibility of infection increases. As a result, healing will take less time.
