Permanent ombre eyebrows – what is this method based on?

If one chooses permanent eyebrow makeup, there are several methods to choose from. The powder method, also known as shading, involves inserting the pigment of your choice into the skin using a needle. It is placed between the natural hairs. In the classic shading method, the beautician uses a single pigment, while in ombre permanent makeup several shades of pigment are used. The result is eyebrows with a distinctive look – they are lighter at the beginning, at the base of the nose, and the color saturation gradually increases towards the outer edge.

Ombre eyebrow makeup – what does the procedure look like?

The permanent ombre makeup procedure begins with a preliminary drawing. A new contour of the eyebrows is drawn, and then the appropriate color of pigments is selected. First, a local anesthetic with lidocaine is applied to the skin. Then the actual treatment begins – the pigment is inserted under the skin using disposable needles.

Although it is a very popular method, it is not always possible to undergo this procedure. The main contraindications to permanent eyebrow makeup are:

• Viral, bacterial or fungal infection
• dermatitis
• diabetes
• psoriasis, eczema
• pregnancy and breastfeeding

How long does it take to heal after having ombre eyebrows done?

Immediately after performing ombre eyebrows, the effect is very visible, the eyebrow line is clear and intensely colored. However, after the procedure, the epidermis, and with it the pigment, erupts. As a result, after about 7-10 days the eyebrows fade by about 40-50%. After 2-3 weeks, when the ombre skin is healed, a touch-up is recommended to enhance the effect and fill in any makeup gaps.

Keep in mind that the skin will be irritated after permanent eyebrow makeup, as the technique involves puncturing. Any redness should disappear after a few hours. Over the next few days, as the epidermis peels off, itching may occur. This is a natural phenomenon. Do not scratch the eyebrows or remove any scales or scabs that appear. The use of facial scrubs, soaps and gels is also inadvisable. Instead, a specific moisturizer indicated by a beautician is advisable. While your eyebrows are healing, avoid sunbathing, saunas, tanning beds and swimming pools.

Ombre eyebrows – what results can be expected?

Permanent ombre makeup is delicate and subtle. Eyebrows are definitely lighter at the root and more saturated towards the end. This effect of smooth transition between shades is more natural than in the classic method. Also, the lower line of the eyebrow arch is more emphasized in this makeup, while the upper line is definitely more blurred.

Two methods of saturation are used:

• horizontal saturation – for people with strong, distinctive beauty type
• vertical saturation – for women with delicate beauty or mature (such ombre will be ideal for blondes)
